Citrus Peel Fermentation Project

Recently, Myande Group signed a contract with Chongqing Academy of Animal Husbandry by which the two sides will cooperatively undertake an agricultural byproduct fermentation project to yield animal feed material from citrus peel and other agricultural by-products. According to the contract, Chongqing Academy of Animal Husbandry will provide the necessary bacterial and process design, while Myande will supply automatic fermentation equipment.

China is the world’s largest citrus producer. As a major by-product of the citrus deep processing industry, citrus peel accounts for 40%-60% of the total weight of citrus fruit. Thus, China’s citrus processing industry each year yields over 10 million tons of citrus peel, which, if not used effectively to actualize its innate value, will not only represent a great waste of potentially valuable resource but also create huge negative impact to the environment. Hence, the successful implementation of this project will set up a good example in the effective use of waste resources and will have great economic as well as environmental significance.
