Summary: Following the guidelines of the Central Finance Committee, the Chinese Academy of Engineering has initiated a significant consultancy project entitled "Strengthening Technological Breakthroughs in Key Areas to Accelerate the Realization of Strategic Industry Independence”. The strategic research on developing high-end food processing equipment is being led by Academician Chen Jian of Jiangnan University, with the Chinese Food and Packaging Machinery Industry Association serving as the supporting organization to oversee the related activities.
On 6 August, the kick-off meeting for the "2035 China's High-End Food Processing Equipment Development Strategy Consulting Project" was successfully held at Myande. More than 40 representatives from leading companies in the food machinery and packaging equipment sectors, including grain and oil, livestock and poultry, fruits and vegetables, aquaculture and fermentation, as well as representatives from universities and research institutes, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Zou Xiaobo, Vice President of Jiangsu University, with Academician Chen Jian from Jiangnan University and Chairman Chu Yufeng of the China Food and Packaging Machinery Industry Association participating online.
The meeting began with a welcome speech by Rong Zhen, President of Myande. Academician Chen Jian outlined the work requirements and focus areas for the "High-End Food Processing Equipment" strategic consulting project. Professor Zou Xiaobo proposed specific arrangements for the implementation of the project. Professor Li Zhaofeng from Jiangnan University, Professor Shi Jiyong from Jiangsu University, and Han Kuiguo, an expert in intellectual property, reported on the preliminary preparations. Experts from the participating companies then held in-depth discussions on the current status, main objectives and key directions for the development of high-end equipment in the next decade, as well as the integration of digital and green technologies into high-end equipment. The meeting concluded with a summary delivered by Mr Cui Lin, Secretary General of the China Food and Packaging Machinery Industry Association.
After the meeting, representatives toured the Myande digital exhibition hall and smart manufacturing workshop.
The "High-End Equipment for Food Processing" strategic consulting project aims to identify key core technologies and critical products for the food machinery industry by 2035 through literature review, surveys, and benchmarking analysis. It will also outline key directions and initiatives for enhancing innovation capabilities and optimizing product structures. By integrating resources from industry, academia, and enterprises, the project seeks collaborative efforts to develop a strategy for the advancement of high-end food equipment, thereby promoting industry growth.
